The Governor of Delta State, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has enjoined Deltans to reflect on this season and remember that as we approach Christmas celebrations, we should show love to one another.

The Governor who delivered a speech at the get-together party organized by his Deputy, Deacon (Barr.) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro at Asaba for all government functionaries said “I want to remind us that as we approach Christmas, we should think about the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ and in all that we do, in our actions, we should show love to people”

“we must relate back home and make our people understand the reason why we celebrate the season. As I wish each of us a merry Christmas and a happy new year, in advance, it is my hope that the blessings of God will be upon every one of you. God blessings will visit your homes, offices. And in 2020, you will have cause to continue to give glory to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ” he stated.

The Governor continued, “I must use the opportunity to appreciate you all for your good works. When governance is good, the credit goes to myself and my Deputy. But two of us do not make the government, it is the collective effort of all that actually give strength to the government. The grace of God upon us is also important for the success story.”

The governor appreciated Deltans further for the collective efforts and partnership which he said, kept them as government stronger, predicting that the remaining parts of his administration will record more successes which Deltans will remember them for.

He added, “the months are going and the time is short, but I believe in this very short time, working collectively, we can make a great impact that will help to lay a strong foundation for the future of our people and the state. I thank you, the Deputy Governor for bringing us together because as we leave this place it makes it easier for us to relate well in our workplaces.

I must commend members of the Delta State House of Assembly because I can see a very warm relationship between them and members of the executive branch of government. This is in the best interest of our state. I have not heard of situations where members of the House bulling members of the executive”

“I think working together, we will all have reasons to smile and to say at the end of our tenure, thank you Lord for enabling me to play my role in Delta State. May the Lord guide, bless and protect each and every one of us. May the Lord give you the grace to continue to carry on with your offices. I wish every one of us a merry Christmas”

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon (Barr.) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro who also made a brief speech said the event was put in place by himself to get the people together and to merry while honouring God Almighty for seeing them through all the year after the tedious job of governance before they will all go home for the Christmas break.

The speaker of the State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who Chaired the occasion, said he was privileged to be at the helm of affairs at this great event, the first of its kind in this administration explaining that the event was packaged by the Deputy Governor to get them together to celebrate themselves for the beautiful job they have done for the state from beginning to the end of the year.
