Microsoft Makes Plan to Acquire Tiktok app

On Sunday, August 2nd, 2020, Microsoft has declared interest to buy the most popular social media app, Tiktok. According to their statement, other interested investors could also participate alongside with Microsoft in the acquisition process.

Microsoft confirmed on Sunday that they are in talks with the Chinese tech company ByteDance to acquire the social app TikTok in the U.S. Microsoft declared that it intends to finalize talks with the Chinese tech company by September 15.

In a controversy going around the internet on the banning of the social media trendy app in the U.S. by President Donald J. Trump, the giant tech company Microsoft has to resolve these issues with the U.S government concerning the TikTok ban.

In a blog post, Microsoft said that their chief executive officer(CEO) Satya Nadella and President Donald J. Trump had spoken and the company is committed to President Trump’s view regarding the trendy app.

Microsoft said they will ensure that data on TikTok users in the U.S. would be located in the country and data stored outside of the country would be deleted after the conclusion of the app deal.

TikTok is a social media app popular among the age of 18 to 45.
